Melbourne, Australia's second largest city, has opportunities in both apartments and homes.
There is strong migration into Victoria, a resilient economy, and shortages of land appearing, especially for house and land buyers. This segment of the market, especially in affordable new homes 15-20 km from the city centre looks excellent.
Apartments in near city suburbs, at reasonable prices, should also fare well.
There is also a looming shortage as at June 2007 of quality inner suburban and city projects.
